Hi, I'm Donna.
And I've been exactly where you are.
Back in 2016 I packed up and travelled, ending up living in New Zealand for a period of time. That experience changed something in me. I came back with a drive to build something of my own and a lot of questions about how to actually do it.
I had been working in marketing since 2018, so I understood the digital world. But understanding marketing and building your own income from scratch are two very different things. I had to figure most of it out myself.


The journey
For years I worked as a Virtual Assistant for a wide range of clients. It was flexible, it paid well, and it taught me a huge amount about how online businesses actually run. But eventually I knew I needed something more. Trading time for money had its limits and I wanted to build income that could grow without me having to take on more and more clients.
So I started exploring. I tried Skillshare, Etsy, digital products, and online courses. Some things worked. Some didn't. I made mistakes, wasted time on the wrong platforms, and had to figure out what actually worked for my situation.
Why Assistup exists
What I kept finding was that most of the advice out there was overwhelming, vague, or built around strategies that didn't suit everyone's situation. So I started documenting what I was learning and sharing the honest, practical version of it — the stuff that actually worked, without the hype.
That's how Assistup by Donna started. Not as a polished business plan, but as an honest record of what I was figuring out along the way.
